AN ACT to amend the High School Act, 1876.

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows :-

This Act may be cited as the High School Act Amend- ment Act, 1920, and shall be read as one with the High School Act, 1876, and the Governors of the High School Appoint- ment Act.

(2.) The three additional members may be appointed by the Governor on the nomination in the prescribed manner of "The High School Old Boys' Association," and any vacancy caused by the retirement, death, resignation, or absence of a member so appointed shall, subject as hereinafter pre- scribed, be filled by an appointment by the Governor on the Eke nomination:

Provided that, if at the time when any such vacancy occurs, the number of members of "The High School Old Boys' Association" is less than two hundred, an appoint- ment may be made by the Governor without nomination.

(1.) Three of the governors of the High School shall retire on the 30th day of April in every year. Of the gover- nors firstly appointed on the nomination of "The High School Old Boys' Association," one shall retire on the 30th day of April, 1921, one shall retire on the 30th day of April, 1922, and one shall retire on the 30th day of April, 1923, and the order in which they shall so retire shall be deter- mined by lot among themselves.

Subject as aforesaid and to section four of the Governors of the High School Appointment Act, the gover- nors to retire on each 30th day of April shall be those who have then continued longest in office.

The vacancies caused by annual retirement as afore-

said, and any casual vacancies shall (subject to section two

of this Act) be filled by the Governor.

necessary to give effect to this Act.
