AMENDMENT OF THE RULES
(1) Order 43a is amended by adding a new rule as follows:
“3. Every award of costs under a judgment of the High Court of Australia shall carry interest at the rate of ten per centum per annum from the date of the certificate of taxation quantifying the same.”
(2) Order 59 is amended as follows:
(a) Delete rule 5 (2);
(b) Amend rule 6 (1) by deleting the words “except in the vacations when they shall be from nine o’clock in the forenoon until one o’clock in the afternoon”;

(c) Add a new rule, as follows:
“7. A Registry may in the discretion of the Registrar, and shall on the direction of a Justice, be opened at any time for urgent business.”
(3) Order 70 rule 12 is amended by adding a new sub-rule as follows:
“5. In exceptional circumstances, the power referred to in sub-rule (4) of this rule may be exercised as if ‘appellant’ includes an applicant for special leave to appeal and ‘appeal’ includes an application for such leave.”
