Heavy Vehicle (Adoption of National Law) Act 2013

His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Heavy Vehicle (Adoption of National Law) Act 2013.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Heavy Vehicle (Adoption of National Law) Regulation 2013:

(a)	to prescribe new, and increase existing penalties for, offences against the Heavy Vehicle National Law (NSW), and
(b)	to increase an existing penalty for an offence against the Heavy Vehicle (Fatigue Management) National Regulation (NSW), and
(c)	to increase existing penalties for offences against the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation (NSW),

for which an infringement notice may be issued.

The new offences relate to the non-compliance with the requirements concerning accreditation labels and

Heavy Vehicle National Law (NSW).	self-clearing defect notices under sections 466 (2A) and (2B) and 531A (4) and (5), respectively, of the sections 12 (6) and 28 (the local regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Heavy Vehicle (Adoption of National Law) Amendment
(Penalties) Regulation 2017.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on 1 July 2017 and is required to be published on the
NSW legislation website.
