Hearing Services Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Hearing Services Act 1991.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Hearing Services Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s.48.]

2.   New regulation 3a

2.1   After regulation 3, insert:

Remuneration and allowances of appointed members of the Board

 “3a. (1)   For the purposes of subsection 27 (1) of the Act:

  • (a)

    the remuneration of the Chairperson is $24,381 a year; and

  • (b)

    the remuneration of an appointed member other than the Chairperson is $9,821 a year.

“(2)

For the purposes of subsection 27 (2) of the Act, allowances to be paid to an appointed member are prescribed at the following rates:

  • (a)

    for each overnight stay in a capital city—$300;

  • (b)

    for each overnight stay in a place other than a capital city—$155.”.
