1  Name

This instrument is the Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Amendment Instrument (No. 2) 2020.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 1 July 2021.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 11(1) of the Hearing Services Administration Act 1997.

4  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1—Amendments

Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Instrument 2019

1  Subsection 13(3)

Omit ‘3 years’, substitute ‘5 years’.

2  Subsection 13(5)

Omit ‘3 year’, substitute ‘5 year’.

3  At the end of Part 8

Add:

56Transitional provisions relating to duration of vouchers

A voucher issued under this instrument that remains in force at the commencement date of the Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Amendment Instrument (No. 2) 2020 is taken to have been issued under this instrument as amended.

Note:          The Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Amendment Instrument (No. 2) 2020 extended the duration of vouchers from 3 years to 5 years. Accordingly, vouchers that were issued before the amendments commenced, but remained in force on 1 July 2021, will be valid for 5 years.
