Health (Treatment of Sewage and Disposal of

Effluent and Liquid Waste) Amendment

Regulations 2013

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Health (Treatment of Sewage and

Disposal of Effluent and Liquid Waste) Amendment

Regulations 2013.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these

regulations are published in the Gazette;

(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day on which the

Water Services Act 2012 Part 2 comes into operation.

3.             Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Health (Treatment of Sewage and
Disposal of Effluent and Liquid Waste) Regulations 1974.

4.             Regulation 3 amended

In regulation 3 in the definitions of certificate of compliance,
drainage plumbing work and plumbing standards delete
Water Services Licensing (Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing
Standards) Regulations 2000;” and insert:
Plumbers Licensing and Plumbing Standards Regulations 2000;

5.             Regulation 7 amended

(1) Delete regulation 7(1) and insert:
(1) All materials, fixtures and fittings to be used in the
construction and installation of an apparatus must

be —

(a)

approved by the Executive Director, Public Health; or

(b)

approved for the purposes of the Water Services Act 2012 section 91.

(2) In regulation 7(2) delete “defects and the Metropolitan Water
Supply, Sewerage and Drainage By-laws 1981, and the Country
Towns Sewerage By-laws 1952 apply to them in addition to
these regulations.” and insert:
defects.
