Health Services (The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead)) Order 2010

under the

Health Services Act 1997

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, on the recommendation of the Minister for Health and in pursuance of sections 43 and 131 of the Health Services Act 1997, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The objects of this Order are:

(a)

to rename The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children as The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) (incorporating The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children), and

(b)

to transfer the public hospital known as Sydney Children’s Hospital from the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service to The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) (incorporating The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children).

This Order is made under sections 43 and 131 of the Health Services Act 1997.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Health Services (The Sydney Children’s Hospitals
Network (Randwick and Westmead)) Order 2010.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on 1 July 2010 and is required to be published on the NSW legislation website.

3      Change of name of statutory health corporation

The name of the statutory health corporation named “The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children” is by this Order changed to “The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) (incorporating the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children)”.

4 Amendment of Health Services Act 1997 No 154

Schedule 2 Statutory health corporations

Omit “The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children” from Column 1.

Insert instead “The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) (incorporating The Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children)”.

5      Transfer of Sydney Children’s Hospital

The public hospital under the control of the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service and known as Sydney Children’s Hospital is transferred to The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (Randwick and Westmead) (incorporating the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children).
