Memorial Hospital) Order 2000

under the

Health Services Act 1997

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister for Health, make the following Order in pursuance of section 43 (1) (b) of the Health Services Act 1997.

Explanatory note

The object of this Order is to transfer the Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital on Lord Howe Island (a statutory health corporation) to the South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service. The effect of the transfer is that the statutory health corporation is dissolved, and the staff, assets, rights and liabilities of the statutory health corporation are transferred to the area health service. The land on which the Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital is situated remains Crown land and is not transferred to the area health service.

Order 2000

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Health Services (Gower Wilson Memorial

Hospital) Order 2000.

2 Commencement

This Order takes effect on 1 July 2000.

3      Transfer of Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital, Lord Howe Island

(1) The statutory health corporation named “The Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital, Lord Howe Island” is by this Order transferred to the South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service.

(2) This Order does not affect the dedication under section 19 (1) of the Lord Howe Island Act 1953 of Crown land for the purpose of a Hospital (Gower Wilson Memorial), and no interest in land is transferred by this Order.

Note. The dedication of land under the Lord Howe Island Act 1953 for a Hospital (Gower Wilson Memorial) is notified in the Gazette of 11 March 1955, pages 708 to 709.

4 Amendments

The Health Services Act 1997 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

5 Notes

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.

Insert “Lord Howe Island” in column 3 of Schedule 1 opposite the matter relating to the South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service in Column 1 of that Schedule.

[2]      Schedule 2 Names of statutory health corporations

Omit “The Gower Wilson Memorial Hospital, Lord Howe Island”.
