(Amendment) Act (No. 2) 1997

An Act to amend the Health Professions Boards (Procedures) Act 1981

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:
Short title
1. This Act may be cited as the Health Professions Boards (Procedures) (Amendment) Act (No. 2) 1997.
Commencement
2. This Act commences on the day on which it is notified in the Gazette.
Principal Act
3. In this Act, “Principal Act” means the Health Professions Boards (Procedures) Act 1981.1
Remuneration
4. Section 13 of the Principal Act is amended by adding at the end the following subsection:
“(3) A member is entitled to remuneration for time spent sitting on the Board for the hearing of a proceeding.”.
Conduct of proceedings
5. Section 23 of the Principal Act is amended by inserting in subsection (1) “or any member who is a legal practitioner” after “Board” (second occurring).
