An Ordinance to amend the Health Professions Boards (Procedures Ordinance 1981

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Health Professions Boards (Procedures) (Amendment) Ordinance 1986.1

Commencement

2.  This Ordinance shall come into operation on such date as is fixed by the Minister of State for Territories by notice in the Gazette.

Principal Ordinance

3.  In this Ordinance “Principal Ordinance” means the Health Professions Boards (Procedures) Ordinance 1981.2

Interpretation

4.  Section 3 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a)by inserting before paragraph (a) of the definition of “Board” the following paragraph:

“(aa)the Chiropractic Board established under the Chiropractors Ordinance;”;

(b)by inserting after the definition of “Chairman” the following definition:

“ ‘Chiropractors Ordinance’ means the Chiropractors Registration Ordinance 1983;”;

(c)by inserting before paragraph (a) of the definition of “proceeding” the following paragraph:

“(aa)in relation to the Chiropractic Board—an inquiry by the Board under section 24 of the Chiropractors Ordinance;”.

Vacation of office

5.  Section 11 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting before paragraph (4) (a) the following paragraph:

“(aa)in relation to a member of the Chiropractic Board—a person registered as a chiropractor under the Chiropractors Ordinance;”.

Assistance for Boards

6.  Section 32 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:

“(2)  The Chairman may appoint a person to assist the Board in a proceeding before it.”.

Protection of witness, &c.,

7.  Section 33 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting in sub-section (1) “, or who assists the Board in a proceeding before it,” after “Board”.
