Part 1 Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 1 Preliminary [s 1] Preliminary 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 . Part 2 Amendment of Health Regulation 1996 2 Regulation amended This part amends the Health Regulation 1996 . 3 Amendment of s 153 (Definitions) Section 153, definition Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons , Drugs and Poisons means the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs’— omit, insert— Medicines and Poisons means the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines’ . 4 Amendment of s 156 (Labelling requirements generally) Section 156(2)(b)(vi), ‘Drugs’— omit, insert— ‘Medicines’ . 5 Amendment of sch 4 (Items to be provided) (1) Schedule 4, item 6(b), ‘Drugs’— omit, insert— 2011 SL No. 128 Page 3

(2) Schedule 4, item 6(c) to (e)— omit, insert— ‘(c) the Register of Dental Practitioners kept under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law; (d) the Register of Medical Practitioners kept under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law; (e) the register of veterinary surgeons kept under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1936 , section 16(1)(a).’ . Part 3 Amendment of Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Regulation 2002 6 Regulation amended This part amends the MedicalRadiationTechnologistsRegistration Regulation 2002 . 7 Amendment of s 14 (Minimum period for completion of the supervised practice program—Act, s 61) (1) Section 14— insert— ‘(1A) For subsection (1), the minimum period includes the following— (a) 5 days or less bereavement or sick leave taken during the minimum period; (b) any public holidays occurring during the minimum period.’. Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 3 Amendment of Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Regulation 2002 [s 8] (2) Section 14(1A) to (4)— renumber as section 14(2) to (5). 8 Amendment of s 19 (Competencies to be demonstrated for completion of supervised practice program—medical imaging technology—Act, s 61) (1) Section 19— insert— ‘(da) routine computed tomography;’. (2) Section 19(da) and (e)— renumber as section 19(e) and (f). 9 Amendment of s 24 (Equipment at professional practice setting—medical imaging technology) Section 24, from ‘must have the equipment’— omit, insert— ‘must have, or have access to, the equipment needed to carry out medical imaging, including, for example, a general X-ray unit, a mobile X-ray unit with an image intensifier and a computed tomography scanner.’. 10 Amendment of s 25 (Procedures carried out at professional practice setting—medical imaging technology) (1) Section 25(1)— insert— ‘(ea) routine computed tomography;’. (2) Section 25(1)(ea) and (f)— renumber as section 25(1)(f) and (g). (3) Section 25(2)(c)— omit . 2011 SL No. 128 Page 5
Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 3 Amendment of Medical Radiation Technologists Registration Regulation 2002 [s 11] (4) Section 25(2)(d)— renumber as section 25(2)(c). 11 Insertion of new pt 6 After section 61— insert— ‘Part 6 Transitional provisions for Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 ‘62 Definition for pt 6 ‘In this part— commencement means commencement of this part. ‘63 Minimum period for completion of the supervised practice program includes leave and public holidays ‘(1) This section applies if, immediately before the commencement, a probationary registrant is undertaking a supervised practice program. ‘(2) Section 14 as in force immediately after the commencement applies in relation to the probationary registrant in relation to the supervised practice program. ‘64 Particular competency to be demonstrated for completion of supervised practice program ‘(1) This section applies if, immediately before the commencement, a probationary registrant is undertaking a supervised practice program. ‘(2) Section 19 as in force immediately before the commencement applies to the probationary registrant.’. Health Legislation Amendment Regulation (No. 3) 2011 Part 4 Amendment of Public Health Regulation 2005 [s 12] 12 Amendment of sch 1 (Qualifications for general registration) (1) Schedule 1, part 1— insert— ‘Bachelor of Medical Imaging Science Master of Diagnostic Radiography Queensland University of Technology University of Sydney’. (2) Schedule 1, part 3— insert— ‘Bachelor of Radiation Therapy Queensland University of Technology’. 13 Amendment of sch 4 (Dictionary) Schedule 4— insert— commencement , for part 6, see section 62. routine computed tomography means— (a) non–contrast and post–contrast brain computed tomography; and (b) contrast chest–abdominal computed tomography other than angiography.’.
