HEALTH LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1997 NO 87—

PROCLAMATION

G SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Health Legislation Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint:

(a)

12 December 1997 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 3) commences, and

(b) 1 April 1998 as the day on which Schedule 3 to that Act commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the whole of the Health Legislation Amendment Act 1997.

As a result of this Proclamation, amendments to the Dental Technicians Registration Act 1975, the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985, the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966, and the Private Hospitals and Day Procedure Centres Act 1988 commence on

12 December 1997, and amendments to the New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry Act

1964 commence on 1 April 1998.
