Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 53) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 53) Regulations.

Commencement

2. These Regulations commence on 1 May 1990.

Amendment of the Schedule to the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 51) Regulations

3. The Schedule to the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 51) Regulations2 is amended:

(a) by omitting "sections 15 and" from Rule 44 of the rules for interpretation of the table of medical services and substituting "section";

(b) by omitting from the table of medical services items 201, 204, 205, 770, 895, 920, 921, 981, 982, 983, 984, 985, 2955, 2957, 3113, 3160, 3739, 3745, 4266, 4800, 5611, 6005, 6006, 6513, 6517, 6638, 6920, 6940, 7520, 7524, 7539 and 7886;

(c) by omitting item 8805, as amended by the. Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 52) Regulations3;

(d) by inserting after item 210 of the table of medical services the following heading:

"Division 2—Special Services"',

(e) by inserting before item 2980 of the table of medical services the following heading:

"PART 9A—MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING";

(f) by inserting in the table of medical services the following items:
