Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 50) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 50) Regulations.

Commencement

2. These Regulations commence on 1 February 1989.

Amendment of the Schedule to the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 49) Regulations

3. The Schedule to the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 49) Regulations is amended:

(a) by omitting from Rule 39 of the rules for the interpretation of the table of medical services "item 851" and substituting "item 186 or 851";

(b) by omitting from paragraph (j) of that Rule "Medical practitioner" and substituting "participating optometrist in the case of a service specified in item 186, or a medical practitioner in the case of a service specified in item 851.";

(c) by omitting from the table of medical services items 280, 932, 981 to 985 (inclusive), 990, 995, 999, 4269, 4273, 4296 and 4351;

(d) by omitting Division 4 of Part 10 of the table of Medical services and substituting the Division set out in Schedule 1 to these Regulations;

(e) by omitting from the table of medical services items 6460, 6464, 6513, 6517, 8531, 8536 and 8537; and

(f) by inserting in its proper numerical position in that table each of the items set out in Schedule 2 to these Regulations.".
