Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 21) Regulations.

Commencement

2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 September 1981.

The Schedule to the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 17) Regulations (being that Schedule as amended by the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 18) Regulations, the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 19) Regulations and the Health Insurance (Variation of Fees and Medical Services) (No. 20) Regulations) is amended as set out in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Omit rule 32, substitute the following rule:

“32. A reference in a column in item 2953 to an amount under this rule shall be read as a reference to an amount equal to one-fifth of the fee or the aggregate of the fees in respect of which the medical benefit payable under the Act in relation to the operation or series or combination of operations for the professional services of the practitioner to whom the assistance was rendered is calculated and an amount equal to the amount so referred to shall be deemed to be set out in that column in the place of that reference.”.
