Health Insurance Regulations2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and in pursuance of section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

 1. After regulation 2AD of the Health Insurance Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Prescribed manner of publication for the purposes of paragraph 19C (5) (a) of the Act

“2AE.

(1) In this regulation, ‘practitioner’ has the same meaning as in section 19B of the Act.

(2)

For the purposes of paragraph 19 C (5) (a) of the Act, the prescribed manner of publication is publication—

• (a)

  in the Gazette;

• (b)

  in each State and Territory, in a newspaper circulating throughout that State or Territory; and

• (c)

  in a local newspaper, if any, circulating in an area in which the practitioner to whom the statement relates renders or has rendered professional services.”.

Commencement

 2. Regulation 1 shall come into operation on 1 November 1982.
