Health Insurance Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

Commencement

1. (1) Regulation 2 shall be taken to have commenced on 1 August 1987.

(2) Regulation 3 shall be taken to have commenced on 1 August 1988.

2. After regulation 2ac of the Health Insurance Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Prescribed amount—paragraph 13 (2) (b) of the Act

“2aca. For the purposes of paragraph 13 (2) (b) of the Act, where the examining optometrist has certified on the patient’s account that, in his or her professional opinion, the patient had an ocular condition which necessitated a further course of attention being commenced within 36 months of the previous initial consultation, the prescribed amount is $99.”.

3. Regulation 2acaof the Health Insurance Regulations is amended by omitting “$99” and substituting “$104”.
