Health Insurance Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
REGULATIONS UNDER THE HEALTH INSURANCE ACT 1973.*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice
of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under
the

Amendments of the Health Insurance Regulations
(2) Regulation 2aab of the Health Insurance Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph (f) of sub-regulation (2) the figures and words “ $5,000 or more ” and substituting the words and figures “ more than $50,000 ”;
(b) by omitting from paragraph (g) of sub-regulation (2) the figures and words “ $5,000 or more ” and substituting the words and figures “ more than $50,000 ”;
(c) by omitting from paragraph (h) of sub-regulation (2) the figures and words “ $5,000 or more ” and substituting the words and figures “ more than $50.000 ”;
(d) by omitting from sub-regulation (3) all words from and including the word “ ascertained ” to and including the words “
National Health Act 1953) ” and substituting the words “ equal to the payments made by the hospital during the period from money, received by way of donations, legacies and fund raising activities or by way of interest on moneys so received, (being payments included for the purposes of sub-regulation (1) in the gross operating costs of the hospital during the period) ”;

(e) by omitting from sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (3) the figures and words “ $5,000 or more ” and substituting the words and figures “ more than $5,000 ”;
(f) by omitting; from sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (3) the figures and words “ $5,000 or more ” and substituting the words and figures “ more than $50,000 ”;
(g) by omitting from paragraph (g) of sub-regulation (3) all words after the word “ hospital ”;
(h) by omitting from paragraph (h) of sub-regulation (3) all words after the word “ hospital ”; and
(i) by adding at the end thereof the following sub-regulation:—
“ (5) Paragraph (2) (1) does not apply to payments for or in relation to the purchase or hire of renal dialysis machines, including any necessary ancillary equipment, for installation in the residential accommodation of persons suffering from renal disorders and for or in relation to the installation, maintenance and operation of those machines and that equipment.”.
