  1. Name of Determination

This Determination is the Health Insurance (Professional Services Review - Allied Health and Others) Determination 2012.

  1. Commencement

This Determination commences on 1 January 2013.

  1. Interpretation

In this Determination:

the Act means the Health Insurance Act 1973.

the Schedule means the Schedule to this Determination.

Note          Unless the contrary intention appears, expressions used in this Determination have the same meanings as in the Act—see section 13 of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003.

  1. Health Practitioners

For the purposes of subsection 81(1A)(a) of the Act, a health professional listed in Part A of Schedule 1 is a “practitioner".

  1. Professions

For the purposes of subsection 81(1A)(b) of the Act, a vocation engaged in by a health professional of a kind listed in Part B of Schedule 1 is a “profession”.
