Schedule 1 – Amendments

1. Name

This instrument is the Health Insurance (Extended Medicare Safety Net) Amendment Determination 2019.

1. Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

1.  The whole of this instrument	The later of: (a) 1 January 2019; and (b) the day after this instrument has been approved by each House of Parliament. However, the provisions do not commence at all if the event mentioned in paragraph (b) does not occur.

This Determination is made under section 10B of the Health Insurance Act 1973.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1 — Amendments

Health Insurance (Extended Medicare Safety Net) Determination 2017

1 Subsection 4(1) (after table item dealing with item 13251)

Insert:

13260 65 percent of the Schedule fee for the item

2 Subsection 4(1) (after table item dealing with item 32526)

Insert:

32528	15 percent of the Schedule fee for the item
32529	10 percent of the Schedule fee for the item
42505	15 percent of the Schedule fee for the item

3 Subsection 4(1) (after table item dealing with item 42702)

Insert:

42705 15 percent of the Schedule fee for the item

4 Paragraph 4(2)(a)

Omit “32501,”.

5 Subsection 4(3) (at the end of the table items headed “Group”)

Insert:

Note: Items 179 to 212 in group A7 appear in the determination made under subsection 3C(1) of the Act with respect to other medical practitioner services. The determination operates so that the items are to be treated as if the items were in the general medical services table.
