Health Insurance Commission Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Commission Act 1973.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on the same day as the amendments of the Childcare Rebate Act 1993 made by item 26 of Schedule 1 to the Child Care Legislation Amendment Act 1998.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Health Insurance Commission Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   New Regulation 3R

3.1   After regulation 3Q, insert:

Use of Australian Childhood Immunisation Register for childcare rebate

 “3R.(1) In performing the additional functions conferred on the Commission under section 39A of the Childcare Rebate

Act 1993, the Commissionmay use the information in the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register for satisfying itself about a matter mentioned in subsection 39A (3) of that Act.

 “(2) For subregulation (1), the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register is the register of that name kept under section 46B of the Health Insurance Act 1973.”.
