An Act to amend the Health Insurance Act 1973, and for related purposes

The Parliament of Australia enacts:

1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Health Insurance Amendment (Provider Number Review) Act 2007.

2Commencement

This Act commences on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent.

3Schedule(s)

Each Act that is specified in a Schedule to this Act is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this Act has effect according to its terms.

Schedule 1Amendment of the Health Insurance Act 1973

Paragraphs 19AD(1)(a) and (b)

Repeal the paragraphs, substitute:

  1. (a)

    on or before 31 December 2010; and

  2. (b)

    by the end of each successive period of 5 years after 31 December 2010.

Subsection 19AD(2)

Omit “paragraph (1)(b)”, substitute “subsection (1)”.
