HEALTH INSURANCE ACT 1973

DETERMINATION UNDER PARAGRAPH 3GC(3)(a)

I, KAY CHRISTINE LESLEY PATTERSON, Minister for Health and Ageing, in pursuance of powers under paragraph 3GC(3)(a) of the Health Insurance Act 1973, hereby DETERMINE that:

1. each person whose name appears in Column 3 of an Item of Schedule 1 is appointed as a member of the Medical Training Review Panel as a person representing the State or Territory health department or agency that appears in Column 2 of the same Item; and

1. each person whose name appears in Column 3 of an Item of Schedule 2 is appointed as a member of the Medical Training Review Panel as a person representing the Medical College that appears in Column 2 of the same Item; and

1. each person whose name appears in Column 3 of an Item of Part 1 of Schedule 3 is appointed as a member of the Medical Training Review Panel as a person representing the organisation that appears in Column 2 of the same Item; and

1. each person whose name appears in Column 2 of an Item of Part 2 of Schedule 3 is appointed as a member of the Medical Training Review Panel as a person representing the Australian Medical Association – Council of Doctors-in-Training; and

1. each person whose name appears in Column 2 of an Item of Part 3 of Schedule 3 is appointed as an alternate member of the Medical Training Review Panel as a person representing the Australian Medical Association – Council of Doctors-in-Training, but a person whose name appears in an Item of Part 3 is not authorised to participate as a member at a meeting of the Medical Training Review Panel unless:

(a)        the Chair of Medical Training Review Panel has recognised the alternate member for the purposes of that meeting; and

(b)        no more than three members representing the Australian Medical Association, Council of Doctors-in-Training participate in the meeting at any one time.

This declaration revokes all previous declarations made under paragraph 3GC(3)(a)
