Determination made under subsection 3(1)

(HIB 11/2008)

I, Peter Callanan, delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing, pursuant to the powers under paragraph (d) of the definition of 'patient contribution' in subsection 3(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act):

  1. REVOKE all previous determinations made under paragraph (d) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in subsection 3(1) of the Act in respect of private hospitals in all States and Territories within Australia.

  1. DETERMINE for the purposes of paragraph (d) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in subsection 3(1) of the Act, that the amount of patient contribution be $40.80 per day in respect of private hospitals in all States and Territories within Australia.

  1. This determination takes effect on 20 September 2008.
