Determination made under subsection 3(1)

(HIB 02/2009)

I, Peter Callanan, delegate of the Minister for Health and Ageing, pursuant to the powers under paragraph (b) of the definition of 'patient contribution' in subsection 3(1) of the Health Insurance Act 1973 (the Act):

  1. REVOKE all previous determinations made under paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in subsection 3(1) of the Act in respect of recognised hospitals in New South Wales.

  1. DETERMINE for the purposes of paragraph (b) of the definition of ‘patient contribution’ in subsection 3(1) of the Act, that the amount of patient contribution is $41.00 per day in respect of recognised hospitals in New South Wales.

  1. This determination takes effect on 20 March 2009.
