Health Insurance (1994-1995 Diagnostic Imaging Services Table) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 July 1995.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Health Insurance (1994-1995 Diagnostic Imaging Services Table) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Schedule (Table of Diagnostic Imaging Services)

3.1   Part 1, Rule 12:

Omit “radiological procedure by:”, substitute “radiological procedure for a service to which an item in Group I3 applies by:”.

3.2   Part 2:

After item 55057, insert:

“55058

Measurement of umbilical artery blood flow using pulsed wave or continuous wave Doppler techniques after the 26th week of gestation, if:

  • (a)

    the patient is referred by a medical practitioner for this procedure; and

  • (b)

    there is reason to suspect intrauterine growth retardation or a significant risk of foetal death;

not being a service associated with a service to which an item in this Group applies—examination and report (R)

$26.45”.

3.3   Part 2, item 55118:

Add at the end:

“(Anaes. 17708 = 6B + 2T)”.

3.4   Part 2, item 60951:

Omit the item.

3.5   Part 2, item 60957:

Omit the item, substitute:

“60957

Myelography (NR) (Anaes. 17712 =

7B + 5T)

$121.15”.

3.6   Part 2, item 60960:

Omit the item.
