Health Insurance (1992 Pathology Services Table) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 March 1992.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Health Insurance (1992 Pathology Services Table) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Schedule (Table of Pathology Services)

3.1   After item 66319, insert in Group P2:

“66321

Quantitative estimation of alpha-feto protein, human chorionic gonadotrophin, oestriol or any other substance, to detect foetal abnormality in pregnancy, including any services specified in items 66251, 66301, 73527 and 73529

     

 52.00”.

3.2   Item 73045:

Omit the item, substitute:

“73045

Cytological examination, other than an examination mentioned in item 73053, for malignancy, including serial examinations and histological services performed on the resulting specimens from washings or brushings from sites not specified in item 73043, or performed on a single specimen of sputum or urine or on one or more specimens of other body fluids - one or more examinations

         

 28.00”.
