I, NEAL BLEWETT, the Minister of State for Health, hereby make the following Regulations under the Health Commission Ordinance 1975.

Interpretation
1. Regulation 2 of the Health Commission (Charges) Regulations is
amended—
| (a) | by omitting ", other than ward 10A" from paragraph (b) of the definition of "hospital" in sub-regulation (1); |
| (b) | by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of "hospital patient" and substituting the following definition: |
" 'hospital patient', in relation to a hospital, means an in-patient of
the hospital other than a private patient;";
| (c) | by omitting from sub-regulation (1) the definition of "private patient" and substituting the following definition: |
" 'private patient', in relation to a hospital, means an in-patient of
the hospital who—
(a)
has made an election under sub-regulation 2C (1) and has not revoked that election; or
(b)
is accommodated in a single room in the hospital at his request;";
| (a) | by omitting from paragraph (a) "$11.95" and substituting "$12.40"; and | |

| (d) | by omitting "26" from the definition of "standard medical benefits table" in sub-regulation (1) and substituting "31"; and | |
| (e) | by omitting sub-regulation (7). |
Hospital accommodation fees—nursing-home type patients
2. Regulation 3B of the Health Commission (Charges) Regulations is
amended—

3. Regulation 4 of the Health Commission (Charges) Regulations is
amended—
(a) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (a) "$40.00" and substituting "$40.45";
(b) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (b) "$40.00" and substituting "$40.45";
(c) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (c) "$41.43" and substituting "$41.88";
(d) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (d) "$42.86" and substituting "$43.31";
(e) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (e) "$46.00" and substituting "$46.45";
(f) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (0 "$46.00" and substituting "$46.45";
(g) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (g) "$47.43" and substituting "$47.88"; and
(h) by omitting from paragraph ( 1) (h) "$48.86" and substituting "$49.31".
