Name of Regulations
These Regulations are the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) Amendment Regulations 2005 (No. 1).
Commencement
These Regulations commence on the day after they are registered.
Amendment of Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) Regulations 1996
Schedule 1 amends the Hazardous Waste (Regulation of Exports and Imports) Regulations 1996.

5AParticulars of export of hazardous waste — metal alkyl compounds in hydrocarbons
(1)For paragraph 18A (2) (a) of the Act, the following particulars are specified:
(a)the hazardous waste to be exported is metal alkyl compounds in hydrocarbons;
(b)the waste is stored by Qenos Pty Ltd,
, Matraville, NSW 2036; 16-20 Beauchamp Road
(c)up to 15 tonnes of the waste is to be exported;
(d)any
export permit to authorise the export is to be granted within 12 months of the commencement of this regulation; Basel
(e)the waste will be stored in carbon steel tanks of 1 635-litre capacity and will be transported by road to Port Botany, Sydney;
(f)at Port Botany, the tanks containing the waste will be loaded onto ships for transport to
in the Rotterdam ; Netherlands
(g)after unloading at
, the tanks will be transported by road to Rotterdam , Poldervlietweg, B-2030, Indaver NV ; Antwerp ,Belgium
(h)the waste will be disposed of by
, Poldervlietweg, B-2030, Indaver NV by: Antwerp ,Belgium
(i)high-temperature incineration; and
(ii)repackaging of the residue followed by its disposal in a specially engineered landfill.
(2)For paragraph 18A (2) (a) of the Act, the following particulars are specified:
(a)the hazardous waste to be exported is metal alkyl compounds in hydrocarbons;
(b)the waste is stored by Basell Pty Ltd,
, Corio, Refinery Road 3214; Victoria
(c)up to 50 tonnes of the waste is to be exported;
(d)any
export permit to authorise the export is to be granted within 12 months of the commencement of this regulation; Basel
(e)the waste will be stored in 1 500-litre capacity steel transport tanks and will be transported by road to the
; Port ofMelbourne
(f)at the
, the tanks containing the waste will be loaded onto ships for transport to Port ofMelbourne in The Netherlands; Rotterdam
(g)after unloading at
, the tanks will be transported by road to the holding facility of Akzo Nobel Chemicals bv MAE plant-Botlek site, Welplaatweg 12, Rotterdam , The Netherlands; Rotterdam
(h)the waste will be transported by road to, and then disposed of by AVR CHEMIE B.V., Prof Gerbrandyweg 10, Rotterdam-Botlek by means of:
(i)high-temperature incineration; and
(ii)repackaging of the residue followed by its disposal in a specially engineered landfill.
