Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative authority of the same, as follows :—
BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with
1. This Act may be cited as the " Hawkesbury Benevolent
Society's (Amendment) Act, 1903," and shall be construed with the Act Fourth Victoria number three, and with an Act passed in the twenty-third year of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, and intituled " An Act to amend the Hawkesbury Benevolent Society's Act of Incorporation."
the members thereof, if empowered thereby to do so by a majority of such members present at any meeting duly convened for the purpose under the provisions of the said Acts, may with the consent of the 2. The society referred to in the Act Fourth Victoria number three as the "Hawkesbury Benevolent Society" shall henceforth be known as the " Hawkesbury Benevolent Society and Hospital," and all references in the said Act or in the above-mentioned Act of twenty- third Victoria to the said society shall he deemed to be references to the Hawkesbury Benevolent Society and Hospital.
3 . The trustees of the said society and hospital, on behalf of
the Minister of the Crown for the time being having the charge and administration of the said Acts, sell, for the benefit of the said society and hospital, the whole or any part of the lands now being or at any time hereafter to become the property of the said society and hospital as the trustees deem expedient in the interests of the said society and hospital by public auction or private contract, and either in one lot or in several lots as they may deem expedient, for such price as can be reasonably had for the same, and may convey the same to the purchaser, and shall hold the proceeds of the sale of the same in trust for the said society and hospital; and the lands so conveyed shall vest in the purchaser freed and discharged from any trust or dedication affecting the same, and the receipt in writing of the trustees, in the absence of fraud, shall be a sufficient discharge to the purchaser of the said lands or any portion thereof, and exonerate him from seeing to the applica tion of the moneys paid by him and from all liability in respect of any misapplication or non-application thereof; and the trustees may allow- any purchaser credit for the payment of the whole or any part of the purchase money upon such terms as to interest or otherwise as the trustees may deem reasonable and expedient.
4. The first proviso to section eleven of the Act Fourth Victoria
number three is hereby repealed.
5. Two persons to act as honorary medical officers shall be annually elected as officers of the said society and hospital under the provisions of section twelve of the Act Fourth Victoria number three as to the election of officers of the said society and hospital, and, with the officers, members, and trustees therein mentioned, shall constitute the committee of management therein mentioned, and the provisions of the said Act as to officers elected thereunder shall apply to officers elected under the provisions of this section.
6. The provisions of section eight of the Public Hospitals Act,
1898, shall be deemed to be incorporated in this Act, the word

Hospitals Act, 1898, and the Acts thereby repealed shall not apply or be deemed to have at any time applied to the said society or society and hospital.
