An Act to amend the Hawkers and Pedlers Act.

WH E R E A S it is expedient A c t of 1849 b y m a k i n g al l Licenses issued t h e r e u n d e r co­
t o a m e n d t h e H a w k e r s and Pedlers.
extensive wi th t h e l imi ts of t h e Colony Be i t therefore enacted by
t h e Queen ' s Mos t Exce l l en t Majesty by a n d w i t h t h e advice a n d con­
sent of t h e Legis la t ive Counci l a n d Legis la t ive Assembly of N e w
Sou th Wales in Pa r l i amen t assembled and by t h e au tho r i t y of t he
same as follows :—
1. The e leventh and twelf th sections of t h e Ac t t h i r t e e n t h
Victor ia n u m b e r th i r ty - s ix are hereby repealed.

2. The four th and fifth sections of t h e said A c t in so far as

they provide t h a t l icenses can only be issued d u r i n g cer ta in m o n t h s
are hereby repealed A n d it is hereby enacted t h a t l icenses m a y be
g ran ted on t h e first o rd ina ry s i t t i ng day of any m o n t h on appl ica t ion
to any two Jus t i ce s of t h e Peace s i t t ing in P e t t y Sessions in t h e Police
Dis t r ic t where in t h e appl icant usua l ly or pr inc ipal ly resides.

3 . The several Schedules A A 2 B B 2 a n d C shall be read a n d cons t rued and be adopted in p r epa r ing every license not ice a n d recognizance respectively of which they p u r p o r t t o be forms as if instead and in t he place of t h e words " w i t h i n t h e Police Dis t r ic t of"

were inser ted t h e words " Colony of N e w South W a l e s . "
4. E v e r y license issued unde r t h e au thor i ty of t h e said A c t a n d
in conformity wi th t h e provisions of th i s A c t shal l ex tend a n d be of
force over a n d t h r o u g h o u t t h e Colony.

5. This A c t shall be styled and m a y be cited as t he " H a w k e r s '

Licenses A m e n d m e n t A c t of 1862 . "
