B E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows ;- PART I.-PRELIMINARY. PART I.- PRELIMINARY. 1. '(1.) This Act may be cited as "The Harbour ShfYrl title. Boards Acts and Another Act Amendment Act of 1939." (2.) This Act is divided into Parts, as follows : - Parts of Act. N WI!I. 17A. 3. The following new section 17A is inserted after section seventeen of *"The Harbour Boards Acts, 1892 to 1928," namely :-- ~ en. "[17A.] (1.) If any of the Areas or parts of Areas c~ = ~ o~ :' comprising a Harbour Board District to which section dbeclare . seventeen of this Act applies are abolished or subdivided, ofoucnodnasrtilte- s or 0 t herW' ISe SUb] ' eCt ed t 0 any change 0 f boundan' es uent Area. but, in the opinion of the Governor in Council, it is impossible or inexpedient to apply any provision of section seventeen respecting the amendment of boundaries, he may by Order in Council- (a) Declare that the Harbour Board District bcoonucnedranreieds shasallitcohnatdinuime mtoedhiaatveely thperiosramtoe such abolition, subdivision, or other change; or (b) Alter the boundaries of such Harbour Board District in such manner as he thinks proper in the circumstances. (2.) The Governor in Council may make an Order in Council under this section in respect of a Harbour Board District, any of the Areas or parts of Areas comprising which have been abolished or subdivided or otherwise changed prior to the passing of t" The Harbour Boards Acts and Another Act Amendment Act of 1939," and every such Order in Council shall be retrospective so far as necessary to give operation and effect thereto on and from the date of the abolition, subdivision, or ot,her change in boundaries to which it relates. (3.) Neither this se.ction nor any Order in Council made hereunder shall prejudice any provision of this Act respecting the Voters' Rolls to be used at any election by electors under and for the purposes of this Act, but * 56 Vic. The following new paragraph is added to section Amendment one hundred and sixty-six of *"The Harbour Boards Acts, of s. 166. 1892 to 1928," namely:- " No Board shall use any receipt form, permit form, license form, or any other form, which in the opinion of the Auditor-General is a ·money form, unless the form concerned has been obtained by it from the Government Printer, and the Government Printer shall submit for the approval of the Auditor-General all requisitions for any such forms before printing or supplying the same." The following new subsection (x.) is added to Amendment section 23A of t"The Mackay Harbour Board Acts, 1896 of S. 23A. to 1934," namely:- "(x.) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Principal Act or this Act, the Board may make a by-law providing for the payment to each member of the Construction Committee appointed by the Board on the twenty-fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, under section fifty-two of the Principal Act and By-law No. 6 of the By-laws of the Board who attends or has attended any meeting of such committee such fee for each such attendance as "it shall fix: by such By-la.w. * 56 Vic. No. 34, MACKAY HARBOUR BOARD ACTS, 1896 Moreover, such By-law may provide that each TO 19'34." member of such Construction Committee shall be entitled to be paid, and the Board shall pay to him, the fee so fixed for each and every attendance by him at meetings of such Construction Committee during the whole period of his membership thereof, whether such period of membership occurred wholly before, or partly before and partly after, or wholly after the date of the making of such By-law.
