Part 1—Preliminary
1—Short title
These regulations may be cited as the Harbors and Navigation (Miscellaneous) Amendment Regulations 2022.
2—Commencement
Subject to this regulation, these regulations come into operation on the day on which they are made.
(2)Regulation 7(2) comes into operation on 30 May 2022.

3—Amendment of regulation 3—Interpretation
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 50—after paragraph (a) insert:
(ab)AS 4758.1—2008: Personal flotation devices—General requirements in relation to a lifejacket classified as providing level 50 buoyancy;
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 50, (b)—before "Lifejacket" insert:
until 31 December 2024—
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 50S—after paragraph (a) insert:
(ab)AS 4758.1—2008: Personal flotation devices—General requirements in relation to a lifejacket classified as providing level 50 special purpose (50S) buoyancy;
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 50S, (b)—before "Lifejacket" insert:
until 31 December 2024—
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 100 or above, (a)—after subparagraph (i) insert:
(ia)AS 4758.1—2008: Personal flotation devices—General requirements in relation to a lifejacket classified as providing level 100 or level 150 buoyancy (or more);
Regulation 3(1), definition of lifejacket level 100 or above, (a)(ii)—before "Lifejackets" insert:
until 31 December 2024
Regulation 3(10)—delete "inflate" and substitute:
be inflated manually

Regulation 142, definition of ABP Standard—delete "National Marine Safety Committee" and substitute:
Australian Recreational Boating Safety Committee
5—Amendment of regulation 143—Vessels to which Part 9 Division 4 of Act applies
Regulation 143(d)(i)—delete "European Directive 94/25/EC—Recreational Craft Directive" and substitute:

Regulation 169(4)(c)—after "lifejacket level 50" insert:
or lifejacket level 50S
Regulation 169(7)—after paragraph (a) insert:
(ab)the vessel carries only the operator and a child or children of or under the age of 12 years; or
