PROCLAMATION
WESTERN AUSTRALIA } By the Honourable Geoffrey Alexander

[LS.] the State of Western Australia.
I, the deputy of the Governor, acting with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council—
(a)
under section 5(1)(a) of the Prisons Act 1981 declare the buildings and enclosures set out in the Schedule to this proclamation to be a prison within the meaning and for the purposes of that Act to be known as the Hakea Prison with effect from the day on which this proclamation is published in the Government Gazette; and
(b) under section 5(1)(c) of that Act-
(i)
declare that the prisons known as the Canning Vale Prison and The C.W. Campbell Remand Centre cease to be prisons with effect from the day on which this proclamation is published in the Government Gazette; and
(ii)
direct that when the prisons referred to in subparagraph (i) cease to be prisons, the prisoners confined in them are to be confined in the Hakea Prison.
Schedule
1. The buildings and enclosures set out in the Schedule to the proclamation under the Prisons Act 1903 that was published in the Government Gazette on 4 December 1981 at page 4971.
2. The buildings and enclosures set out in the Schedule to the proclamation under the Prisons Act 1981 that was published in the Government Gazette on 16 June 1999 at page 2597.
