Arrangement for conduct of election.

[1]        On 21 August 2013 Hair and Beauty Australia lodged with the Fair Work Commission

the prescribed information in relation to an election for the following offices:

President	(1)
Vice-President	(1)
Secretary	(1)
Treasurer	(1)
Ordinary Committee Members	(6)

[2] On 28 August 2013, the organisation lodged an application for an extension of time to allow a later day for lodgement of the prescribed information. The prescribed day is the day occurring 2 months before the first day when a person may, under the rules of the organisation, become a candidate in an election. The rules provide that the nominations will open on the first Monday in October in the year elections are due to be held.

[3] The organisation has explained that the late lodgement of the prescribed information was due to inadvertent omission of some administrative processes in the absence of a dedicated person to oversee administrative duties following executive personnel changes. I allow a later day up to the date of actual lodgement, namely 21 August 2013 and grant the extension requested.

[4]        I am satisfied that an election for the abovenamed offices is required to be held under

the rules of the organisation and, under subsection 189(3) of the Fair Work (Registered

Organisations) Act 2009, I am making arrangements for the conduct of the election by the

Australian Electoral Commission.
