AN ACT to amend the Gun License Act, 1885.

[Assented to 31st December, 1925.]

this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows:-

Short title.

1.

This Act may be cited as the Gtut License Act Amend- ment Act, 1925, and shall be read as one with the Gun

License Act, 1885, hereinafter referred to as the principal

Act.

Amendment of s.

2.

A proviso is added to section five of the principal Act,

as follows :—

"Provided also that no license shall be granted to any Asiatic or African alien, or to any person of Asiatic or African race claiming to be a British subject, except with the approval of the Treasurer.

Provided further that nothing in this section shall

apply to any person of the Jewish race."

No Asiatic re

3.

No Asiatic or African alien, and no person of Asiatic or African race claiming to be a British subject, shall use or carry a gun within any portion of the State unless he is the holder of a license under this Act.

Penalty: Fifty pounds.

Amendment of

4.

Section eleven of the principal Act is amended by sub-

stituting the words "the Treasurer" for "Colonial Secre-

tary."

5.

Section twelve of the principal Act is amended by sub- stituting for the words "sections A and C of the Shortening Ordinance, 1853," the words "paragraphs A and C of the Interpretation Act, 1918."

On the reprinting of the principal Act, as hereby amended, the short title shall be the Gun License Act, 1885-
