The Full Court of the Family Court of Australia considered an application by the father for an extension of time to appeal parenting orders made by Justice Cohen on 30 June 2006. The father had filed a Notice of Appeal on 2 February 2007.

The primary legal issue before the Full Court was whether to grant the father an extension of time to pursue his appeal against the parenting orders. The Court also needed to determine how the filed Notice of Appeal should be treated in light of the application for an extension.

The Court granted the father an extension of time to appeal the parenting orders. It further ordered that the Notice of Appeal filed on 2 February 2007 be deemed to encompass both the parenting and property orders. The Appeals Registrar was directed to convene a procedural hearing to settle the appeal book index. Costs of the day were reserved for the Full Court.
