1 Short title
This regulation may be cited as the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2016 .
2 Commencement
This regulation commences on 27 April 2016.
3 Regulation amended
This regulation amends the Guide, Hearing and Assistance Dogs Regulation 2009 .
4 Amendment of s 5 (Requirements for identifying coats—Act, s 12(4))
Section 5(1)— omit, insert—(1)It is a requirement for an identifying coat that the coat has an approved badge attached to, and prominently displayed on, the coat.
5 Omission of s 10 (Documents to accompany applications—Act, s 41(2)(a))
Section 10— omit.
6 Replacement of s 11 (Requirements for photos to accompany applications—Act, s 41(2)(b))
Section 11— omit, insert—11 Form of handler’s identity card—Act, s 45(b)
The photo on a handler’s identity card must—(a)clearly show the face, head and top of the shoulders of the handler facing directly at the camera; and(b)clearly show the head of the handler’s guide, hearing or assistance dog facing directly at the camera; and(c)show skin tones and have appropriate brightness and contrast; and(d)not contain a flash reflection or red eye effect; and(e)have been taken no more than 6 months before the handler’s identity card is issued to the handler; and(f)be printed in high resolution on photo paper; and(g)be between 45mm and 55mm high and between 35mm and 40mm wide.
7 Omission of s 12 (Notice of application—Act, s 42(1))
Section 12— omit.
