AN ACT to amend the Guardianship of Infants

Act, 1926-1954.

[Assented to 4th October, 1962.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Guardianship	Short title
and citation.

(2) In this Act the Guardianship of Infants Act,	Vol. 13 of
Reprinted in

1926-1954, as construed in conjunction with the	printed Acts.
The Re-
Guardianship of Infants Act, 1920, is referred to as	Approved

the principal Act.	31st July,
1958.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Guardianship of Infants Act, 1926-1962.

Commence-

ment. 2. This Act shall come into operation on a day

to be fixed by proclamation.

S 8 amended. 3.

Section eight of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words, "two pounds ten shillings" in lines two and three of paragraph (c) of subsection (1), the words, "five pounds".

amended. 4. Section thirteen of the principal Act is

amended

(a) by substituting for the words, "Secretary of the State Children Department" in lines. one and two of subsection (3), the passage, "Director of the Child Welfare Department appointed under the Child Welfare Act,

1947,";

(b)	by substituting for the words, "Secretary of the State Children Department" in lines. four and five of subsection (4), the words, "Director of the Child Welfare Depart- ment"; and
(c)	by substituting for the passage commencing with the word, "State" in line three of subsection (5) down to and including the figures, "1921" in the last line of that subsection, the following passage
