Growth Centres (Development
Corporations) Act 1974—Order

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 5 (1) and (2) of the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974, make the Order set out in the Schedule.

Schedule
1 Name of Order
This Order is the Growth Centres (South Sydney Development
Corporation) Order 1997.
2 Definitions
In this Order:
South Sydney Growth Centre means the land referred to in Part
6 of Schedule 1 to the Act.
the Act means the Growth Centres (Development Corporations)
Act 1974.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Order.
Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Act
Schedule 1 to the Act is amended:
(a) by omitting part of Part 5, being the part that relates to land within the City of South Sydney, and (b) by inserting at the end of the Schedule, in Columns 1 and 2 respectively, the following Part:
6. ALL THOSE pieces or parcels of land within the local government area of the City of South Sydney (being land generally bounded by South Dowling Street in the east, Gardners Road in the south, excluding the residential area of Rosebery, Campbell Road to Euston Road in the west and McEvoy Street, Bourke Street and Crescent Street to South Dowling Street in the north) as shown edged heavy black on the map entitled “South Sydney Development Corporation”, copies of which are deposited in the office of the Department of Urban Affairs and Planning.
Declaration of South Sydney Development Corporation
A development corporation, under the corporate name of the
South Sydney Development Corporation, is constituted in respect of the South Sydney Growth Centre. The corporation is a continuation of the corporation constituted under the GrowthCentres (South Sydney Development Corporation) Order 1996.
6 Repeal
The Growth Centres (South Sydney Development Corporation)
Order 1996 is repealed.

Explanatory note
Explanatory note
This Order repeals and replaces an order under the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974, that set aside certain lands as a growth centre (the South Sydney Growth Centre) and constituted the South Sydney Development Corporation, for the purpose of correcting the
description of the South Sydney Growth Centre. This Order is made under section 5 (1) and (2) of the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974 and section 43 (2) of the Interpretation Act 1987.
