2005

under the

Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974

MARIE BASHIR, Governor I, Professor Marie Bashir AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of sections 5 (1) and (2) and 23C (1) of the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act 1974, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to set aside certain lands in the north west and south west of the Sydney area as a growth centre and to constitute the Growth Centres Commission to promote, co-ordinate, manage and secure the orderly and economic development of the growth centre. The Order also dissolves the Sydney West Airport Development Corporation.
This Order is made under sections 5 (1) and (2) and 23C (1) of the Growth Centres

(Development Corporations) Act 1974.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Growth Centres Commission Order 2005.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on 1 July 2005.

3      Definition

In this Order:
the Act means the Growth Centres (Development Corporations) Act
1974.

4      Declaration of Growth Centres Commission

A development corporation, under the corporate name of the Growth Centres Commission, is constituted in respect of the land referred to in Part 9 of Schedule 1 to the Act.

5      Dissolution of Sydney West Airport Development Corporation

The Sydney West Airport Development Corporation is dissolved.

6 Amendment of Schedule 1 to the Act

Schedule 1 to the Act is amended:

(a)	by omitting Part 5, and
(b)	by inserting at the end of the Schedule in Columns l and 2 respectively the following Part:
9 All those pieces or parcels of land shown edged heavy red on the map entitled “North West Growth Centre” and the map entitled “South West Growth Centre”, copies of which are deposited in the offices of the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Natural Resources.
