This order in council may be cited as the Griffith University (Queensland Conservatorium) Amendment Order (No. 1) 1997 . ˙ Order in council amended 2. This order in council amends the order in council made under the Act and published in the gazette on 29 June 1991 at page 1190. ˙ Amendment of first sentence 3. First sentence, ‘in pursuance’ to ‘hereby—’— omit, insert — ‘under the Griffith University Act 1971 makes this order in council. ˙ ‘ Short title ‘ 1. This order in council may be cited as the Griffith University (Queensland Conservatorium) Order 1991 . ˙ ‘ Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University ‘ 2. This order in council—’. ˙ Amendment of s 2 (Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University) 4.(1) Section 2(2), ‘of Music’— omit. (2) Section 2(4)— omit, insert— ‘(d) states that the head of the college is— (i) to have the title ‘Provost and Director of the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University’; and

(3) Section 2(6)— omit. (4) Section 2(1) to (3)— renumber as section 2(a) to (c). (5) Section 2(5)(a) and (b)— renumber as section 2(e)(i) and (ii). (6) Section 2(7)— renumber as section 2(f). ˙ Insertion of new ss 3 and 4 5. After section 2— insert— ˙ ‘ Membership of advisory council ‘ 3. The advisory council consists of the following members— (a) the chancellor or the chancellor’s nominee; (b) the vice-chancellor or the vice-chancellor’s nominee; (c) the provost and director of the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University; (d) 2 faculty staff members at the college— (i) whose names are recorded on the junior or senior faculty roll; and (ii) who are elected by faculty staff at the college, whose names are also recorded on the junior or senior faculty roll; (e) 1 general staff member at the college— (i) whose name is recorded on the general staff roll; and

s5 4 s5 Griffith University (Queensland Conservatorium) Amendment (No. 1) No. 165, 1997 (ii) who is elected by general staff at the college, whose names are also recorded on the general staff roll; (f) 2 students of the university at the college— (i) whose names are recorded on the full-time, part-time or postgraduate student roll; and (ii) who are elected by university students at the college, whose names are also recorded on the full-time, part-time or postgraduate student roll; (g) 7 persons, not including staff or students of the university, appointed by the council of the university from nominations made jointly by the chancellor and chairperson of the advisory council; (h) 1 person, nominated by the chief executive, who has responsibilities for the teaching of music at schools in the State. ˙ ‘ Transitional provision for membership of advisory council ‘ 4.(1) An elected, appointed or nominated member of the advisory council holding office immediately before the commencement of this section continues as a member of the advisory council until— (a) the end of the member’s term of office; or (b) the member earlier vacates office or otherwise stops being a member. ‘ (2) This section expires at the end of the day it commences.’.
