Application for approval of the Griffith University Professional and Support Staff Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021.

[1] An application has been made for approval of a single enterprise agreement known as the Griffith University Professional and Support Staff Enterprise Agreement 2017-2021 (the Agreement). The application was made pursuant to s.185 of the Fair Work Act 2009 (the Act) by Griffith University (the Employer).

[2] I am satisfied that each of the requirements of ss.186, 187 and 188 of the Act as are relevant to this application for approval have been met.

[3] On 2 November 2018 undertakings were provided by the Employer. Under s.190 of the Act, I accept the Employer’s undertakings. The undertakings are incorporated into the Agreement. In addition the undertakings are attached to this Decision (see Attachment A).

[4] The following employee organisations who are bargaining representatives for the Agreement have given notices under s.183 of the Act that they want the Agreement to cover them, the:

    • National Tertiary Education Industry Union;

    • United Voice; and

    • Australian Municipal, Administrative, Clerical and Services Union.

In accordance with s.201(2) I note that the Agreement covers the organisations.

The Agreement is approved and, in accordance with s.54 of the Act, will operate from 20 November 2018. The nominal expiry date of the Agreement is 30 June 2021.
