Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following

Regulation under the Greyhound Racing Act 2017.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to extend until 30 June 2021—

(a)	the registration of racing industry participants, and
(b)	the transitional arrangements relating to the GRNSW Greyhound Racing Rules made under the

Greyhound Racing Act 2009.

This Regulation is made under the Greyhound Racing Act 2017, including section 101 (the general regulation-making power) and clause 1 of Schedule 4.

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Greyhound Racing Amendment Regulation 2020.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Schedule 4 Savings, transitional and other provisions

Omit “1 July 2020” from the definition of transition period in clause 8.

Insert instead “1 July 2021”.

[1]      Clause 13A

Insert after clause 13—

13A Extension of term of registration for certain greyhound racing participants

(1)

This clause applies in respect of the registration of a greyhound racing
participant who applied for registration as a greyhound racing participant—

(a)	on or after 1 September 2019, and
(b)	on or before 30 June 2020.

(2)

Despite clause 13, the registration of a greyhound racing participant to whom
this clause applies expires at the end of 30 June 2021.
