An Act to authorize the Enclosure of a par t of Gresham-street in the City of Sydney and to enable Her Majesty to alienate the same. [2nd September, 1852.]
| WHEREAS it is intended to alter and improve the line of Gresham-street in the City of Sydney which lies between Spring | and Bridge streets and in the course of such alteration the land here | |
| inafter described will be no longer required to form part of such street and it is expedient that the right of way hitherto enjoyed by the public over the said land should be legally extinguished to the end that Her Majesty may be enabled to alienate the same for building or other purposes free and clear of any such right of way Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of New South Wales with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof That so soon as certain Crown land on the western side of the line of Gresham- street in the said City between Spring and Bridge streets aforesaid intended to form part of the site for an Exchange shall be required it shall be lawful for the Surveyor General of the Colony to cause to be enclosed so much of the said Gresham-street as is comprised within the boundaries hereinafter mentioned that is to say all that piece of land containing by admeasurement twenty-nine and three-quarter perches more or less bounded on the north by the prolongation of that building line of Bridge-street bearing easterly seventy-one links on the cast by a line bearing southerly three chains and thirty links to the eastern wall of the Archdeaconry land and on the south-west by that wall bearing north-westerly and its prolongation to the point of commencement at the present western junction of Bridge and Gresham streets aforesaid and thereupon all right of way over the said piece of land shall be for ever extinguished and it shall be lawful for Her Majesty or for the Governor of the said Colony or other person or persons acting on the behalf and under the authority of Her said Majesty to alienate the said piece of land free and clear of all such right of way in accordance with the provisions of the Act of Parlia ment passed in the sixth year of Her Majesty's reign intituled " An " Act for regulating the sale of Waste Lands belonging to the Crown, | ||
