I, the Minister for Planning, in pursuance of section 18 (1) of the Greater Sydney Commission Act

2015, make the following Order.

Explanatory note
The object of this Order is to amend the Greater Sydney Commission (Planning Panels) Order 2016 as a consequence of certain districts of the Greater Sydney Region being renamed and merged by the
Environmental Planning and Assessment (Greater Sydney Region Districts) Order 2017, as published on
the NSW planning portal.
This Order is made under section 18 (1) of the Greater Sydney Commission Act 2015.

1      Name of Order

This Order is the Greater Sydney Commission Amendment (Planning Panels) Order
2017.

2      Commencement

This Order commences on the day on which it is published on the NSW legislation website.

Schedule 1 Amendment of the Greater Sydney Commission
(Planning Panels) Order 2016

[1]      Clause 3 Constitution of Sydney planning panels

Omit clause 3 (1) (a)–(c). Insert instead:

(a)	Sydney Eastern City Planning Panel for the Eastern City District of the Greater Sydney Region,
(b)	Sydney Central City Planning Panel for the Central City District of the Greater Sydney Region,
(c)	Sydney Western City Planning Panel for the Western City District of the Greater Sydney Region,

Omit the paragraph.

Omit “Central District” and “West Central District” wherever occurring.
Insert instead “Eastern City District” and “Central City District”, respectively.

Insert after clause 3:

4      Continuation of Sydney planning panels

(1) A new Sydney planning panel, being a panel constituted by the amendment to clause 3 by the Greater Sydney Commission Amendment (Planning Panels)

Order 2017, is a continuation of the following former Sydney planning panels:

(a)	for the Sydney Eastern City Planning Panel—the former Sydney Central Planning Panel,
(b)	for the Sydney Central City Planning Panel—the former Sydney West Central Planning Panel,
(c)	for the Sydney Western City Planning Panel—the former Sydney West Planning Panel and Sydney South West Planning Panel,

and, accordingly, any reference to a former Sydney planning panel is taken to

be a reference to the relevant new Sydney planning panel.

(2) Any matter pending before any such former Sydney planning panel
immediately before the commencement of this clause is taken on that
commencement to be pending before the relevant new Sydney planning panel.
