Governors' Pensions Act Amendment Act 1988, No. 70 797 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short Title. This Act may be cited as the Governors' Pensions Act Amendment Act 1988. 2. Citation . (1) In this Act the Governors' Pensions Act 1977-1985 is referred to as the Principal Act. (2) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Governors' Pensions Act 1977-1988. 3. Repeal of and new s. 4. The Principal Act is amended by repealing section 4 and substituting the following section:- "4. Variation of amount of pension . (1) The pension payable to a person pursuant to this Act shall be adjusted as at 1 July in each year in accordance with the movement in the Consumer Price Index Numbers-All Groups, Brisbane, for the preceding 12 months ending on 30 June. (2) The first such adjustment shall be made as at 1 July 1987, in lieu of any adjustment required by law before the enactment of subsection (1), and shall take effect on and from that date.".
