An Act to provide for the payment of the Salaries of the Governor of N e w South Wales and the J u d g e s of the Supreme Court thereof out of the Revenues of the Customs of the said

Colony. [3rd February, 1832.]

WH E R E A S it is expedient to m a k e some cer ta in provision for paymen t of t he salaries of t h e Governor or A c t i n g Governor

t h e

for t h e t ime-being of th i s Colony a n d of t h e Chief J u s t i c e a n d J u d g e s of t h e Supreme Cour t Be i t therefore enacted by the Governor b y a n d wi th t h e advice of t h e Legis la t ive Counci l T h a t from and after t h e pass ing of th i s Ac t t he salaries hereinafter ment ioned respectively payable to t h e Governor of th i s Colony or t h e Ac t ing Governor for t h e t ime-being a n d to t h e Chief Ju s t i ce and J u d g e s of t h e Sup reme Cour t shal l be a charge upon and be paid out of the Revenues ar i s ing from t h e Dut ies of Cus toms levied in t h i s Colony.

2. A n d be it fur ther enacted T h a t t h e Treasurer of th i s Colony shall a n d do henceforth pay to t h e Governor or t h e A c t i n g Governor

for t h e t ime-be ing t h e s u m of five t h o u s a n d pounds s ter l ing and

to t h e Chief J u s t i c e of t h e Supreme Cour t t h e s u m of two t housand

p o u n d s s ter l ing a n d to each of t he Pu i sne J u d g e s of t he

said Cour t t h e s u m of fifteen h u n d r e d pounds s ter l ing u p o n such days t imes a n d periods in each and every year as t h e Governor or t h e A c t i n g Governor for t h e t ime-be ing by any w a r r a n t or order in

w r i t i n g to be signed by h i m shal l from t ime to t ime order a n d direct

a n d t h a t t h e p a y m e n t s so to be m a d e shall be charged u p o n and payable out of t h e Revenues received from the Cus toms payable in

t h i s Colony.

3 . A n d be i t fur ther enac ted T h a t t h e said Treasure r shal l in

h i s accounts from t ime to t i m e be allowed credit for any s u m or sums so paid by h i m to t h e Governor or A c t i n g Governor for t h e t ime-being a n d to t h e Chief Ju s t i ce and o the r J u d g e s of t h e Supreme Cour t not

exceeding for any one year t h e sums hereinbefore men t ioned a n d	tha t
t h e receipt or receipts of such Governor or A c t i n g Governor for	the

t ime-be ing and of t h e Chief Ju s t i ce and other J u d g e s of t h e Supreme Cour t shal l be a full a n d valid discharge to t h e said Treasure r in pass ing his said accounts for a n y such s u m or sums of money as shal l be there in men t ioned a n d t h a t he shal l and do receive credit for t h e same accordingly.
