GOVERNMENT SAVINGS BANK
ACTS AMENDMENT ACT.
Act No. 37, 1931.
An Act to amend in certain respects the Govern ment Savings Bank Act, 1906, as amended by subsequent Acts; and for purposes con nected therewith. [Assented to, 18th Sep tember, 1931.]

Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—
1 . (1) This Act may be cited as the "Government Savings Bank Acts Amendment Act, 1931."
(2) This Act shall be deemed to have commenced upon the thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one.
2. (1) The Government Savings Bank Act, 1906, as amended by subsequent Acts, is amended—
(j) The transfer of accounts or of any part thereof belonging to depositors in the Savings Bank Department (Old Busi ness Division) may be made to any other account now opened or to be
opened
(a)
by inserting after paragraph (i) of subsection two of section 23A, as inserted by the Govern ment Savings Bank (Further Amendment) Act, 1931, the following new paragraph :—
opened in the same division of the Savings Bank Department, and for the purposes of this paragraph any trans feree shall be eligible to have an account notwithstanding any other pro vision of this Act.
(b)
by inserting after paragraph (k) of subsection two of section 23B, as inserted by the Govern ment Savings Bank (Further Amendment) Act, 1931, the following new paragraph :—
(1) The transfer of accounts or any part thereof (whether fixed for a term or on current account) belonging to depositors in the Rural Bank Depart ment (Old Business Division) may he made to any other account now opened or to be opened in the same division of the Rural Bank Department.
(c)
by inserting at the end of section 46D, as inserted by the Government Savings Bank (Further Amendment) Act, 1931, the following words: " The signature of any person on a debenture in pursuance of the requirements of this section may be made in the handwriting of such person, or may be made by engraving, lithography, or any mechanical process approved by the regulations " ;
(d)
by omitting from section 46E, as inserted by the Government Savings Bank (Further Amendment) Act, 1931, the words " s u m s of
ten pounds or multiples thereof" and by inserting in lieu thereof the words " such sums as the regulations for the time being in
force may prescribe " ;(e)
by inserting at the end of section fifty-two the following words : " The signature of any person on a debenture in pursuance of the require ments of this section may be made in the hand writing of such person, or may be made by engraving, lithography, or any mechanical process approved by the regulations" ;

by omitting from section fifty-three the words " sums of ten pounds or multiples thereof " and hv inserting in lieu thereof the words " such sums as the regulations for the time being in force may prescribe."
(2) The Government Savings Bank (Further Amendment) Act, 1931, is amended by omitting sub- section four of section six.
