GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS AND
TRAMWAYS APPROPRIATION
ACT.
Act No. 9, 1930.
An Act to appropriate and apply certain sums out of the Government Railways and Tramways Fund for the Service of the year from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty (inclusive of both dates) ; and for purposes connected with and incidental to the above objects. [Assented to, 17th April, 1930.]
WH E R E A S wo Your Majesty's most dutiful and Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, loyal subjects, the members of the Legislative
have granted to Your Majesty the sum hereinafter mentioned for the Service of the year from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty- nine, to the thirtieth day of June , one thousand nine hundred and thirty (inclusive of both dates), for Services to be provided for out of the Government Railways and Tramways Fund : And whereas we desire to make good out of the said fund the sum granted to Your Majesty as aforesaid : Be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of the State of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
| 1. Out of the Government Railways and Tramways Fund there is hereby appropriated, and may be issued and applied for or towards the several uses and purposes hereinafter expressed:—The sum of eighteen million | six |
six hundred and ninety-nine thousand and nineteen pounds, to defray the Salaries, Maintenance and Work ing Expenses and other Expenses of the Government Railways and Tramways :—

2. Subject to the following proviso, expenditure
shall not be incurred on any division shown on the Estimates of the Government Railways and Tramways Fund in excess of the sum provided therefor by Parliament on such Estimates—provided that if the exigencies of the Public Service render it necessary, the Colonial Treasurer or person appointed by him may
authorise the transfer of a specific amount from any division, other than for specific public works, to any other division within the vote other than for specific public works.
Nothing
Nothing in this proviso shall empower the Colonial Treasurer or the person appointed by him as aforesaid to authorise the transfer of any sum in augmentation of or as an addition to any salary or wages the amount of which has been fixed by law.
The Colonial Treasurer shall cause the Auditor- General to be informed of every such authority granted as aforesaid.
3. There shall be issued and paid the said sum for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned in such manner and in such proportions as the Governor by any warrant or order in writing under his hand and directed to the Colonial Treasurer or other lawful Authority may from time to time order and direct, and the payments so to be made shall be charged upon and payable out of the said fund.
4. The said Colonial Treasurer or other lawful Authority shall in their respective accounts from time to time be allowed credit for any sum or sums of money paid by him or them in pursuance of such warrant or order in writing as aforesaid, and the receipts of the respective persons to whom the same are so paid shall be a full and valid discharge to the said Colonial Treasurer or other lawful Authority in passing the said accounts for any such sums as may be therein mentioned, and he or they shall receive credit for the same accordingly.
5. This Act may be cited as the " Government Railways and Tramways Appropriation Act, 1930."
